Gift for a puzzle lover?

The best gifts for puzzle lovers
Do you know someone who can't put down a puzzle? Someone who says, "I'll just take a look," and then an hour later is still trying to figure out how that one piece fits?
Then you're actually in luck, because there are so many great gifts you can think of for a true puzzle lover.
And no, it doesn't always have to be a traditional 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle. I find puzzles that work a little differently to be incredibly fun to give as gifts.
At Kadodash, I'm especially a fan of 3D-printed puzzles and brain teasers that, at first glance, sometimes don't look like a puzzle at all.
Why is a puzzle such a great gift?
A puzzle is a gift you truly engage with.
You unwrap it, examine it from all sides, and before you know it, you want to figure out how it works. And as soon as someone says it's difficult, the urge to solve it only grows stronger.
That, in my opinion, makes a puzzle an ideal gift for someone who loves challenges.
3D puzzles: just a little different
When you think of a puzzle, you might immediately picture a big box full of cardboard pieces, but there are so many other types now.
A 3D puzzle is a great example of this.
Instead of placing an image on a table, you literally hold the puzzle in your hands. You have to discover how parts move, how they can be taken apart, and – often much more difficult – how to put everything back together as it was.
That makes it a completely different puzzle experience.
Puzzles that look good enough to eat
These are personally one of my favorite types.
A puzzle that looks like a cake, cookie, or donut initially seems primarily like a funny decorative object.
Until you take it apart...
Then the real work begins.
Because no matter how logical the solution may seem beforehand, getting all the parts back in exactly the right place can be quite tricky.
And that makes such a puzzle extra fun to give as a gift. You're not just giving something beautiful, but an immediate challenge as well.
A gift for adults and children
Puzzling is definitely not just for children.
Adults, in particular, can become quite competitive when a brain teaser is placed in front of them.
A compact 3D puzzle, for example, is fun to put on a desk. Just try it during a break... and then discover you're still working on it twenty minutes later.
For children, it's fun to playfully discover how shapes and parts fit together.
For young children, always pay attention to the recommended age and any small parts.
For the true perseverer
Every puzzle lover knows that moment.
You've tried almost everything.
Turning.
Turning again.
Upside down.
Putting that one piece back again.
And meanwhile refusing to look up the solution.
That's precisely what makes a good brain teaser so much fun. The moment you finally succeed feels extra good because you figured it out yourself.
Do you know someone who absolutely cannot stop until something is solved? Then you immediately know what kind of gift to look for.
A small gift with a lot of fun
An original gift doesn't have to be big.
A compact puzzle or brain teaser takes up little space but can keep someone surprisingly engaged for a long time.
This also makes it a nice birthday gift, a small thank you, a gift for a colleague, or an extra surprise during the holidays.
And of course, you can just order one for yourself too.
Puzzling without a screen
Nowadays, we spend an awful lot of time on our phones, tablets, or computers.
That's precisely why I love a physical puzzle so much.
No apps, notifications, or screens for a while. Just a puzzle in your hands, trying to figure out how it works.
That sounds simple, but it can be surprisingly relaxing.
Also fun to do together
The most fun sometimes happens when someone else gets involved.
"Give it here, I think you should do it like this."
And five minutes later, you're puzzling together.
A brain teaser can thus unexpectedly create a lot of fun. Put one on the table during a birthday or family gathering, and there's a good chance multiple people will want to try it.
How are my 3D puzzles made?
My 3D-printed puzzles are built layer by layer with a 3D printer.
Depending on the design, a puzzle consists of several parts that form a whole after printing. I check the parts and make sure everything functions correctly before the puzzle is packaged.
Because a 3D print is made layer by layer, small print lines may be visible. This is part of the 3D printing process and makes each piece slightly different.
Which puzzle suits your puzzle lover?
When choosing a puzzle, I mainly consider the person it's intended for.
Does someone like funny and cute things? Then choose a puzzle with a surprising design.
Is someone keen on difficult challenges? Then a real brain teaser is much more fun.
And for that one dedicated puzzler who always says everything is easy?
I would, of course, choose the most difficult one for them.
Looking for an original gift for a puzzle lover?
You really don't have to give a puzzle lover a new jigsaw puzzle every year.
Surprise them with a 3D-printed puzzle, brain teaser, or another unique puzzle gift.
At Kadodash, I particularly enjoy collecting products that are just a little different from what you find everywhere.
So be careful when you give one as a gift...
Before you know it, you'll want to solve it yourself first.
